SLC, tourist style

Image
Over our little fall break, we went to Salt Lake City to see Daddy at work. We decided that while we were there, we ought to tour one of the buildings in the vicinity, because our kids have never done any tours, or even really been inside most of them. So we rode the elevator up to Daddy's office and then headed across the street to the Conference Center. All but Asa really enjoyed the tour. And once we were on the roof, he was fine. Inside the building, he and Daddy spent some quality time with the escalators while the rest of us oohed and aahed over the art, etc. that our senior missionary tour guide pointed out to us. This fountain/sculpture was a favorite. Elder Hales was notably absent. We left with the kids begging for more. We'll have to go back and visit another building soon.

Lunch with Daddy and Liberty Park

Having lunch at Dad's work was something we really wanted to do this summer. When we got down to the final week before school, we decided it was now or never, so down to Salt Lake City we went. Bri was with us and had been for a while, and it was fun to take her down to see temple square. It's so beautiful there. And it's always a treat to see Nate in the middle of the day. Outside the Church History Library Our lunching spot. The children and their father were scandalized that our normal spot was closed off because they were in there hanging Christmas lights! Addison found this dead dragonfly. It's wings were amazing. The clan. These guys LOVE their Aunt Bri. When we were done with lunch and had walked around a little, Nate took Bri to the train so she could head back to her neck of the woods. I took the kids over to City Creek Center. We saw the fish and almost got Bryn's ears pierced on a whim and visited the Disney store, which in...

Tracy Aviary

Last week the kids and I took a trip to Salt Lake on a whim, because we found out the Tracy Aviary was $1 every Wednesday through the end of March. I've always wanted to go there, and Bryn is in love with all birds, and it was a beautiful spring day, so we just had to do it. Sometimes it is awesome to be a stay-at-home mom with no kids in school. We went in the early afternoon and had some time to kill while we waited for Nate to get off work, so I took them to check out the new City Creek Center. It's the new shopping center across from Temple Square. It is so cool. The creek runs right through the middle of the mall. They loved all the water and the bridges, and there were even fish! Walking to City Creek. They wall wanted to wear their explorer hats. Add caption Fish! When the kids got tired of the fish we headed to the food court to play on the dinosaur playground. It was so fun! Leah standing in hot lava. After playing for a good long ...
