Bryn's First Soccer Season

Image
Bryn's first soccer season is officially over! Her coach, Taylee, was wonderful and kind and encouraging. We're sad she won't be coaching again next year. We enjoyed watching Bryn play soccer, though she missed the first half of the season due to broken bone(s) and a few of the second half games got cancelled.  She made the games she got to play count, and loved every minute of it. She told me one Saturday morning, "Mom, I wish every day was a soccer day." It has been thrilling for me to watch our mellow Bryn show some passion and excitement. A big thanks to Grandma for taking these great pictures. Several members of the fan club. Post-game treats. Bryn followed big brother's example and was always a good treat sharer. Go, Purple Princesses! Bryn was completely thrilled about getting a medal. The whole team: Amelia, Jaylee, Indie and Bryn. Next time we'll just ask them to say "cheese" instead of ...

Growing Up, It Happens Every Day

Lest you think I'm done being excited about spring, here's a picture of Leah and Addison looking out the kitchen window at the popcorn popping on our apricot tree. Every time Leah sees the tree, she says "popcorn!" with great enthusiasm. It took a while to convince her that it was not, in fact, actual popcorn, and we wouldn't be eating it. And now, on to the post. Our kiddos are growing and doing monumental things left and right. Sometimes I want it all to just slow down! They're getting so big so fast, and occasionally I feel like so much is going on that I'm missing it. Here are a few pictures of our big kids' latest feats. Firstborn first: Addison is somewhat notorious around our house for not enjoying chores. Don't get me wrong, he does them daily, and has gotten pretty quick at them, but you won't ever see him scrambling for the chance to do extras. Well we recently got an awesome book from the library about all sorts of plants ...

Cuties

Here are a bunch of gooduns from the last couple of months that haven't made it up yet. Enjoy! Bryn's "nest" made of bricks. The giant rock decorated with chalk in the middle of it is an egg. The pose of choice for the photo is a bonus. Over the course of one day, between blowouts and spills, this became Leah's actual outfit. Workin' it. A giant dandelion Daddy's girls delighted to see him at the end of the day. We've seen Megan and Sam a few times here and there over the past couple months. Over the weekend of general conference we went on a walk on a trail near our house. Feeding the goats. Leah managed to remove her shirt during the walk. You can see Megan in the background chillin' with the goat. Addison finished soccer! Stretching with his team before the game. Sissies. We've have lots of quality time with the cousins over the past little while. Occasionally resulting in ...

Addison Plays Soccer

Image
Addison just finished his first season as a soccer player. It was a lot of fun. He loved putting on his uniform for games every Saturday and reminded me every Thursday morning that it was soccer practice day. He was very proud that he was number 24, which happened to be the highest number of anyone on his team. Other favorite parts included running down the field behind the glob of kids that constantly surrounded the ball. Addison was pretty shy about getting in the thick of it right around the ball where there were feet kicking every which way and occasional pushing. He could frequently be seen running down the field and shooting a winning smile and a thumbs up to his adoring fans on the sidelines, though. And when the ball hit him in the foot, he did a great job of hitting it back. And he lived for the halftime snacks and game-end treats. There were six boys on his team and I swear they all looked like they could be twins. There actually was one set of twins. They were all so cu...
