Easter was unusual this year, kind of like everything else, but we dyed eggs and hunted for them. We even had some friends hide an egg for each of the kids in our yard! We had little Easter baskets, plenty of jellybeans, and sacrament meeting and nursery at home. In a way, it was nice to be able to keep it really simple and focus in my own heart, at least, on the Resurrection. In another way, the kids missed traditions with friends! Emmie was napping while we did most of the eggs, but we saved a couple for her. We mixed all the egg dye in the potty when we finished with it.  I love hiding eggs for the kids in our yard. There are so many sneaky places to put them!   Emmie threw a monster tantrum, which is very unlike her. It lasted a really, really long time. Egg salad sandwiches. A must. Grandma and Grandpa came up and spent Easter with us this time around! We loved spending time with them. Over the course of the weekend, we participated in four egg hunts. Talk about candy overload! We have some friends in the neighborhood who do a flashlight one every year. On Saturday morning, Bryn got up at the crack of dawn, as she likes to do, and promptly ran up to our room to inform us that there was a bunny outside our window. Turns out someone had "egged" our culdesac! After reigning in a lot of excited kids for a couple hours, and much coordination with neighbors, all the kids ran like crazy through all the yards in the culdesac looking for eggs and had a blast doing it. So many eggs! And then a family at the end of the road just happened to have breakfast for everyone. What a cute idea. We'll have to remember that one for when our littles are less little. So. Many. We had a wonderful Easter Sunday this year. The day before we called "chainsaw day," because we spent the entire day with a borrowed chainsaw felling and dragging trees out of our yard. It was so much work. We're really pleased with the results. And we were really  glad to have a day of rest the next day. It was truly a delightful Sabbath. That night we got invited to a flashlight Easter egg hunt at a friend's house. It was loads of fun! We dyed eggs and watched general conference which was full of all sorts of surprises! The most exciting one for our family was when President Nelson announced that there will be a new temple built right by us! Woohoo! We whooped and hollered and got misty-eyed all at the same time.
