St. Patrick's Day Weekend in St. George

Image
We spent St. Patrick's Day weekend in St. George. Nate's extended family had a big birthday bash for his grandparents, which was the reason for our visit. His grandpa turned 90 this year! We got together for lunch at the church and everybody gave life updates and great grandpa reflected on his life. That morning, Nate, his dad, and a few of the extended family ran a 10K. Not to brag or anything, but my hubby took first in his age group, and he works his blinding green socks that he got for a prize. His dad also placed in his age group! Grandma helped Leah follow her dream of setting up a leprechaun trap the night before St. Patty's Day. She didn't catch one, but there was definitely some evidence left behind that one had been there. We snuck in a face paint. We spent an afternoon playing at the park. We did some exploring in the skinnies. And we did a quick hike at Red Cliffs on the way ou...

St. George Marathon and Visit to St. George

Ah how I've missed blogging. It's quite therapeutic for me to sit down and write about the good times that our little family has. Otherwise, I tend to forget about them! We are so busy all the time, and I frequently feel like all I ever do is drive/clean/grocery shop and hound my kids to do this or that. So it's really nice to be able to look back and say, "Hey, we did something really fun as a family." Or, "Wow, we really do spend quality time together sometimes!" Nate trained really well for the St. George marathon this year. 26.2 miles! I want to die just thinking about it. He ran a great race, which maybe he'll blog about sometime. I'm so proud of him. That's so much training. And he was really, really diligent about it. Way to go, lover! Brothers-in-law, both first-timers. We got to spend that weekend with the folks in St. George, and it was such a lovely time. We hit all our usual stops, plus just enjoyed being at ...

Update on the Fam

Here's a little family update for ya. Nate and Michelle Celebrated our tenth anniversary in August! Thanks to lots of kindnesses from lots of people, we got to go on an overnighter in Logan. What a blessing to have a marriage worth celebrating! We also recently ran the Huntsville Half Marathon. It was Nate's first, and he killed it, man. He ran it in an hour and forty two minutes. Can you believe that!? He's so fast! As for me, I finished and ran the whole time, but it was tough! My time was somewhere around 2:35 But I'm proud of myself for making a hard goal and sticking to it. I've wanted to run the Huntsville Half since I did my first one four years ago. The mountain scenery was just as pretty as I'd hoped it would be. It was a blast to do it with Bri and Mason and Mason's parents. Addison This boy is keeping us hopping! He's doing very well in his 3rd grade class and loves going to school each day. He's also in piano,...
