As part of a Relief Society lesson last month, one of the teachers at church gave a quick biography of Neil L. Anderson, one of the apostles. One of the things that she said that really impressed me was that when his children were young, he took each of them to breakfast once a month, just the two of them. I liked the idea so much, that Nate and I tried it out for a month with our four oldest kids. It was so great! One thing that is hard to come by in our lives right now is one-on-one time with these guys. They are each so different, and yet so awesome!

Daddy-Daughter Dance 2019

Nate here. You need to know that back in the day, I was not into dancing. At high school and church dances, I was completely mortified at the thought of grooving out to the fast songs, so I sat or stood around until the slow songs came along and I could wipe my sweaty palms on my trousers and ask some girl to dance. You should really listen to " Jálale " - it's our ...

A few highlights from last month, for your edification and enjoyment. While Grandma and Grandpa were here for Emmie's blessing, Grandpa took Nate and a couple kids to the other side of the mountain to see some of their pioneer ancestors' graves. Nate's birthday tradition is to go on a solo monster hike. This year he started at Beus Canyon and went to the top of Mount Ogden. He found a helipad at the top! On top of the world. While Nate was off hiking, the kids and I canned peaches. The kids amazed me! There was one point when I was upstairs nursing Emmie, giving instructions over the baby monitor, and they were doing it all on their own. A rainbow loom charm that Bryn made for Nate's birthday. Leah gave Nate some of her most treasured things for his birthday. Nate's mama got him birthday doughnuts. After six long weeks of waiting, Bryn got to switch out her earrings! So much love for this baby gir...
