Leah's had a couple fun events at school in the past couple months that I wanted to share. Fun event number one: Pirate day Her class got to dress as pirates. She even pulled out a tooth the night before to add authenticity to her get-up. Fun event number two: This one happened just last Friday. She got to participate in a book character convention. Each student had to read a book on their Lexile level and dress as a character from the book and give an oral book report in front of the class. She rocked it as Humphrey the Hamster from Winter According to Humphrey. It was a fun coincidence that she was this character from this book, because you may recall, Bryn did the exact same one when she was in second grade!  My buttons were bursting. I'm so proud of this girl for her hard work in school!

Last night was a big one in our household! Leah lost her first tooth! But wait, there's more! Addison lost one too!

An auspicious day for this cutie!

Brynny is thrilled to have lost her very first tooth last month! Ain't she cute?

Addison lost his very first tooth! After weeks of faithful wiggling, he bravely let Nate get in there and do the deed last Thursday. I don't think he was sure about whether to laugh or cry when it was all done, but he was very, very proud. The next day he took his tooth and his riches from the tooth fairy to school to show everyone. It's pretty surreal for Nate and I, because visits from the tooth fairy = a big boy. But we're proud, and he's so cute running around with a missing tooth.  Addison dictated this note to the tooth fairy. He couldn't bear to part with the little tooth. Luckily, she's understanding and let him keep it along with an extremely generous cash prize. I like how he traced the tooth toward the bottom of the page.
