Kays Creek North Fork Trail
The first thing you need to know is that we made up the name of the trail. No clue what it really is. The second thing you need to know is that just as we were starting out, we got rattled at! By a real bona fide rattlesnake that we'd startled! I've seen several rattlesnakes, but never have I been rattled at. It was cool. And I was grateful that the snake had the courtesy to give us some warning and slither away. That experience came in handy when we were on the way back down the trail and a certain oldest son of ours had trouble staying with the group. When he got too far ahead I'd just nonchalantly holler up at him to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes. So devious. So effective. We want to go back sometime just to play in the creek.
