Gramps and Grammie Come to Visit

My parents came to visit at the end of February. It had been quite some time since we'd seen them, especially on our home turf. What a special treat! We LOVED having them and are anxious to get back together again soon. After having them around for several days I think we all felt loved and nurtured and like maybe we aren't doing so bad at life. It was fun to show off our mountains and to play in the snow together. Here are some highlights.

We did a puzzle.

A hike in the snow on a frozen pond.

We played with the chicks.

Did a little service project.

Addison got some chess coaching.

We played several board games.

Took a little Sunday hike up the mountain.

They taught us a new game, Skyjo, which we've all become addicted to. We play it several times a week, and Asa schools me every time!

We visited the Natural History Museum

And saw herons at the bird refuge.

We had an impromptu talent show where the kids all played instruments/sang for Gramps and Grammie. The performances were followed by Gramps telling the story of the time he got a toy saxophone for Christmas . . .

We did some reading.

An d the kids all rode with me to drop them off at the airport. We were all sad, but are determined to make another visit happen soon.

This post makes me so Utah homesick! One of my favorite ever dates with Mason involved walking around in the snow on top of a frozen lake. There's something so magical about it!
