April Fools!

This April first, our kids really capitalized on the fact that April Fool's Day fell during spring break. They got up early, because it was spring break, and found that Nate had provided them with their gateway drug, blue milk, before he'd left for work that morning. 

After that, it was all fooling all the time. Most of the tricks involved food coloring or tape. Here's a sampler for you of what went down.

It's hard to see in the picture, but Leah taped all the piano keys together so that whey you played one, they all played.

Hahahahaha! Your kids are a riot! A sticker on the back up cam! That is hilarious. Also the taped chair to the table. And I can't believe Addison's eggs! They don't look like eggs at all!

Throughout our married life, Michelle and I have pointed out things that show we are "established." The day we got a bed frame, instead of just having a mattress on the floor, was a big one. Tide Pools and Big Trees Days 1-3

By the end of last school year, one thing was painfully apparent: we needed a vacation. We were all beyond burned out. So Nate worked his magic and combined our hopes and dreams into one amazing, unforgettable trip. We drove to northern California to see the redwoods and go to the beach in search of tide pools. We stayed in the perfect little vacation rental by a river full of tadpoles and spent our days exploring and our nights hot tubbing. Our only regret is not staying for longer. (And that one time that Bryn threw up all over the car . . .) Here are some pictures of our amazing trip, which we named, "Tide Pools and Big Trees." We did lots of driving through the desert. This was the highlight of the first day's journey, the "Tree of Utah." Nate stayed up real late making these amazing landmark maps for the kids to follow along with. Michelle's Side of the Family Comes to Town

A couple weeks ago, Jenna received her endowment. What a special event in our family! The way schedules worked out, it made the most sense to do it here, in the Bountiful Temple. So we got to have tons of my family in town, which is a rare and most delicious treat. Jenna and Preston came, of course, and Brianna and Mason, Mom and Dad, and Rebecca and her brand new baby, Austin. It was a house full of fun!  It was a very fast visit, but it was just wonderful.  The first day we got to have Bri and Beck and Austin tag along to ballet and the grocery store, and then we decided that we'd better go to lunch at Zupas. From there it's all a blur, but more people came, we hung out, stayed up way too late, got to show off our new house, and generally had the time of our lives.
