Christmas Fun

Here's a little sampling in no particular order of our Christmas season. It was a whirlwind.

Nate loves Messiah sing-ins. Almost as much as chocolate chip cookies, I think, which is a serious statement. We haven't been to one for years because we're either out of town or too busy/cheap to grab a babysitter for the night. But this year he and Addison went on a date to the Ogden Tabernacle and sang their heads off. They both had the best time! Addison still walks around singing the songs from time to time.

Snow, snow and more snow! It has been a very snowy year for us, which I don't really mind. I think it's pretty. And if it's going to be cold and gray, it might as well be snowing, if you ask me.

Look at this cute fat little bird on our feeder! He and his friends spent an afternoon out there. Look at all the snow on the feeder!

Asa was at first very disturbed by the snow. He didn't like it on his shoes. But now he's used to it and loves to eat it and play in it as long as he's dry. He frequently looks out the window and exclaims, "NO!" (snow!)

We hopped on the train to see the Temple Square lights one evening with Brianna and Mason. The lights were beautiful, but we were reminded why this is one we only do every few years. It was cold and crowded and our kids were running everywhere and Asa was crazy and ended up with a giant goose egg upon an already existing goose egg. It was quite a fiasco. There were good things about it, but mainly in retrospect. Haha!

Christmas is full of way too much almond bark, in my opinion. What a pain. But it just wouldn't be Christmas without horse plops and unicorn plops and chocolate covered pretzels, I suppose. I won't lie and say I savored every moment dipping and sprinkling said confections with my children, but hopefully they liked doing it. And they were awfully tasty.

We had a ward Christmas breakfast this year, which I thought was a fun idea, and way less tricky to schedule than a dinner. Nate got to lead a couple sing-a-long numbers.

And Christmas morning! It was a fun and wild day. Nate and Bryn were both throwing up all day long, but we all enjoyed opening gifts and playing with new toys and hanging out for a long lazy day.
